The big one for causing problems is DirectX 9.0c. Either make sure you have that installed, or another option is to download and install XNA redistributable 3.0 (in addition to the 2.0 redistributable provided). The 3.0 release actually installs the appropriate direct x, but the game was written in 2.0.
